Seasonal Laborer (Street Dept)
The City of Brainerd is currently accepting applications for the following temporary/seasonal laborer.
Primary duties will be assisting the Street crew with painting streets, crosswalks, and parking stalls utilizing forms and power paint sprayer. Will also be involved in routine labor such as pot hole patching, cleaning catch basins after rain events, etc. as well as other duties when assigned or necessary.
- Painting streets, crosswalks, and parking stalls
- Pot hole patching
- Cleaning storm water catch basins
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years or older when hired
- Valid MN driver's license
- Physical ability for frequent bending and lifting
- Awareness of traffic flow is required
- Previous experience in street maintenance including painting and striping
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary is $14- $16 per hour DOQ. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week without overtime. Please note that the crew may start earlier some days if the workload requires. As a temporary position, this is a non-benefit earning position.

*Pursuant to MN Statute, seasonal assignments are limited to 67 working days per calendar year or 100 working days per calendar year if the employees are under the age of 22, are full-time students enrolled in a nonprofit or public educational institution prior to being hired by the employer, and have indicated, either in an application for employment or by being enrolled at an educational institution for the next academic year or term, an intention to continue as students during or after their temporary employment.
