Summer Sales Intern - Brainerd Lakes - Work on the Lake! - Summer 2024

Waterfront Restoration
Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to build your entrepreneurial sales and networking skills by selling a unique, in-demand service, all while working outside by the lake? Then join our team at Waterfront Restoration as an account manager! We are looking for an energetic, outgoing, and motivated candidate to develop new and existing business with clients in and around the area. You will consult and promote our SCUBA by-the-root lake weed removal services to residential homeowners who live on the lake. In this internship, not only will you be working directly with our Director of Sales, Director of Marketing, and CEO to learn how to use key sales tools, but you’ll also get coached and get hands-on opportunities building leads, qualifying customers, and closing deals, in a way that will leave you incredibly prepared for any sales or account management job you want going forward. To succeed in this position, you must have the ability to build relationships and promote service and value over price. Unlike sales positions at other companies, you get to spend time outside and by the lake and promote a unique service that home and cabin owners want so that their family can enjoy their lakefront weed free. You’ll be putting smiles on people’s faces while you earn a great income for yourself and develop your entrepreneurial skills portfolio.

This is an outside sales internship position in the Brainerd lakes area - approximately 40- 50 hours per week. You will be the face of the company and meet with leads at their lake home property to provide and present a quote and inform them of our services. You will also work from your home to provide quotes to prospects who cannot meet with you onsite via phone, email, and Zoom. You will be responsible for following up with any open leads until the deal is closed. From there, you will provide our operations team with customer information and instructions to complete services.

Job Responsibilities (% breakdown):
  • 60% = Outdoor sales - Meet outside by the lake with prospects directly at their lake home who have inquired about our service. Build rapport, create proposals, and present a proposal to the prospect. During the Fall and early Winter, meet with prospects to provide consultations on holiday lighting.
  • 20% = Indoor sales - Communicate with clients over the phone, Zoom, and email about their projects. Then, type up a proposal for them based on your conversations.
  • 10% = Project Management - Ensure that customers' projects are fully managed via updated notes, data entry, and protocol development.
  • 10% = Customer relationship management and networking - Assist the sales and marketing team in maintaining customer retention and satisfaction through calling, emailing, and asking for referrals—a limited amount of cold calling.
Key things you’ll learn: The steps of the sales cycle (including tips and tricks on how to master each one). How to thrive in the service industry while connecting with some of the most affluent and advanced individuals in the United States. How to use leading sales software programs to help make your process more efficient and effective. How to communicate and work with the marketing department to produce great marketing pieces and sales aids. How to create expert presentations for each homeowner. Referral-based lead-generation techniques. Check out our video! https://youtu.be/HzNGiGUQQNU **
