  • About

    Opened in 1898, Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge is the oldest continually owned family resort in the state, making it Minnesota’s original family resort. Ruttger’s is a traditional, cozy, up north family lake resort where guests feel at home, relaxed and comfortable because they are treated like family; not a customer. It’s a 122-year Ruttger’s tradition.

    Enjoy s’mores by the bonfire, two picturesque golf courses, a full marina, a salon and spa, three restaurants, two bars, shopping, a coffee shop, and more, plus incredible fishing, boating, and water recreation. Ruttger’s is the closest full-service resort to the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area and their world-famous mountain biking and hiking trails.

    Ruttger's is a great place to work, offering a variety of employment opportunities including seasonal employment and other employment options such as management, sales, and accounting positions. Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge is a Drug Free Workplace and has a drug and alcohol testing policy in effect for all employees.

    We offer:
    * Free golf for employee & one guest
    * Free tennis
    * Free use of beaches and pools
    * Golf clinics for employees
    * Discount at marina
    * Discount at stores & restaurants
    * Reduced room rates for employees
    * Dinner-for-Two tickets for $10

    Our season runs from April-November. An important criterion for selecting seasonal employees is the time they are available. Those who are available to start earliest and stay latest and have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts throughout the week and weekends will be given stronger consideration.
