Event Description:

This job shadow is open to 4 students. 

A Sleep Lab Technician performs routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. May work under the supervision of a medical technologist.  SLEEP LAB TECHNICIAN INFORMATION

Dress is business casual - Dress slacks or khakis and nice shirt, blouse or sweater, no visible tattoos or piercings beyond an earring in each ear.

Job shadows are available to high school students to further investigate the options of a given career field. Students spend part of a day with a group or an individual knowledgeable about the profession of interest.

The value this experience provides is based on research that shows a workplace connection creates relevance, guides career and educational goals, and connects regional employers with graduates. Allowing students to observe workplace activities, discuss the education and training required, and find out what qualities are desired in a potential employee.
